about our artist management deals
so typical artist management
the way this works we all know it
is a manager finds an artist
or an artist finds a manager
and they go into a partnership
and they create a deal
where the manager is making a percentage
of the artist's gross income
very important you understand that
gross income that means every single penny you make
your manager gets a piece of that penny
and that's something that
a lot of people don't understand
um a lot of artists think
it's what we would call a net deal
which means expenses first
then
it's a profit share between the manager and the artist
that is not how traditional artist management works
the reason I bring this up
is because a traditional artist management deal
to me is a lot like a marriage
if you will
you don't get married to someone on your first date
you don't get married to someone after a month
you get married to someone after you know them very
very well and you've had the time to explore
how do you get along together
um what are your strengths and your weaknesses
can you combine those can you fix those together
and most importantly this is the big one
how do you do with conflict resolution
and this is something that
a lot of people just don't consider
when they're thinking about who they're gonna work with
yes we do have clients that are under formal management
but we've known these people for years now
and that's why we have these kind of deals
not to say we can't get there quicker
not to say we can't get there at all
that's the aim
that's the whole reason we have a management division
is to develop artists to the point
where we can get to that level of relationship
so now what in the meantime
for the other 99% of artists
that we don't know well enough yet
what are we gonna do for you again
you'll hear me repeat this time after time
my whole mission statement
was to help all of the 99% of artists
who the major labels ignore
who the major management companies ignore
we want to help these people
we want to help you if you're in that 99%
we are in that 99% okay
we are not a major label
we're not a major artist management firm
we're a very successful
independent artist management firm
and I want to make sure that our audience
gets the benefit of that freedom
as well so
this is why we've created
what we're calling our artist management campaigns
these are the things we can do for you
that I've told you about in other videos
or maybe you've seen them
maybe you haven't but there are things like
millions of tickets we've sold for people
helping with major releases
getting millions of streams
helping people land publishing deals
helping people land label deals
helping people promote shows and promote tours
these are things we do as a management company
this is another reality I have to point out
and if you get angry at me about this
I'm sorry it is what it is
we live in a world where money is very
very important and quite frankly
we know that it's very scarce
we surveyed our audience
we know what people have to spend
but we also know what it costs to do things
we know how much time it costs
we know how much effort it costs
we know that we have to leverage our relationships
and have conversations for artists
so we cannot do anything for you for free
there's a saying I want you to remember forever
there is no such thing as a free lunch
that's a very famous saying
so again
